“Experience AI and AR at Resorts” — Hanwha Resorts launches collaboration program with startups

(Seoul = News1) Reporter Kim Hyung-jun — Hanwha Resorts, operated by Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, announced on the 14th that it is running a collaboration program with startups to offer diverse customer experiences.

Since March, Hanwha Resorts has participated in the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Public-Private Open Innovation initiative and the Gyeonggi Content Agency’s Metaverse Service Production Support Program.

The project, led by the government, aims to promote collaboration between large corporations and startups. Through it, corporations can use startups’ cutting-edge technologies to deliver new content to customers, while startups gain opportunities for exposure and customer feedback.

Hanwha Resorts partnered with AR exhibition company Ducogen to create an eco-friendly augmented reality (AR) exhibition. At the “Atelier Han(閑)” space in Hanwha Resort Geoje Belvedere, visitors can experience an exhibition themed around an “environmental journey aboard a paper boat.”

By scanning a QR code, endangered animals such as otters and Asiatic black bears appear on screen, delivering messages about environmental conservation. The exhibition runs until November 10.

At Hanwha Resort Haeundae, AI music curation company Aplayz has integrated its technology into themed guest rooms called “Music Rooms.”

Aplayz is a platform that recommends music by recognizing the space and user preferences. Guests can use an in-room tablet to set preferred music genres, eras, or countries, and enjoy songs tailored to their tastes. This service is available until November 30.

Hanwha Resorts is also collaborating with ExCrew, an activity platform used by 570,000 young professionals in their 20s and 30s. ExCrew connects users who share similar interests such as hiking and running.

Together, Hanwha Resorts and ExCrew have developed eight programs that leverage nearby attractions, including: △Autumn Foliage Trekking at Odaesan, Pyeongchang △Silver Grass Trekking at Pocheon △Healing Trip in Busan. Each program is a two-day, one-night trip that includes accommodation, transportation, and activity costs, running until November 18.

A Hanwha Resorts spokesperson said, “During last month’s AI music exhibition at Hanwha Resort Geoje Belvedere, the number of daily visitors nearly doubled compared to the previous exhibition,” adding, “We will continue collaborating with innovative startups to deliver fresh, tech-driven experiences.”
