[TechWorld News = Reporter Yesong Park] On the 20th, Obigo, a smart car software platform company, and APLAYZ announced that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly develop a personalized in-vehicle music service.

APLAYZ, a company spun off from Hyundai Motor Group’s in-house startup program, provides an AI-based service that automatically selects and plays customized music for each space. Through this partnership with Obigo, a leading in-vehicle platform company, the two aim to expand personalized music services into in-car environments.
The two companies plan to showcase their vehicle-optimized music service and music content utilization system—tailored to various driving environments and purposes—at next year’s CES. They will also collaborate to apply these services to automakers and partners equipped with Obigo’s in-vehicle platforms.
APLAYZ CEO Baek Jung-jin stated, “Through this partnership with Obigo, drivers using vehicles equipped with the Obigo platform will be able to experience a differentiated in-car music service that reflects not only individual preferences but also the vehicle’s purpose and diverse driving conditions. We will continue to evolve our service to contribute to transforming cars from mere transportation tools into new living spaces in the era of autonomous driving.”
Obigo CEO Hwang Do-yeon emphasized, “By developing a variety of in-vehicle services powered by APLAYZ’s AI-based music technology, we aim to grow into a platform that delivers greater value to each individual driver. We will continue strengthening our AI technology and business capabilities through partnerships with various companies working to bring AI technology into vehicles.”
Meanwhile, Obigo recently launched its self-developed AAOS-exclusive in-vehicle app store to secure both domestic and international content services. To provide personalized in-car experiences, it is also collaborating with service providers in areas such as news, music, relaxation, and fortune-telling.
Additionally, the company is recruiting partners to expand essential in-vehicle services such as advertising, charging, in-car payment, parking, insurance, and vehicle management. Companies interested in business collaboration can find more details on Obigo’s official website.
