Early Startup Package Company ‘Aplayz’ Selected for Hanwha Vision × Seoul Innovation Center Open Stage

'Aplayz (CEO Bae Jeong-jin)', a 2023 Early Startup Package supported company, has been finally selected for the '2023 Hanwha Vision × Seoul Center for Creative Economy & Innovation Startup Open Stage' program.

'Startup Open Stage' is a collaboration program between large/mid-sized companies and startups, implemented by the Seoul Center for Creative Economy & Innovation since 2019. It supports the creation of a cooperative network where startups can participate in the development process of ideas and technologies needed to solve problems of large/mid-sized companies, aiming to foster a virtuous cycle in the domestic open innovation ecosystem.

'Aplayz', which passed the selection process for startup companies conducted by the Seoul Center, the lead organization for the 2023 Early Startup Package, has developed a business item providing a service that automatically selects and plays music customized for each space based on AI technology.

CEO Bae Jeong-jin of Aplayz explains, “The core of our service is playing music suitable for specific spaces such as stores, buildings, and vehicles.” Aplayz collects data on the musical preferences of people using certain spaces and the time periods when these spaces are most frequented. In the future, the company plans to offer a personal service that matches music to individuals based on their movement patterns and emotions.

Through several meetups and internal evaluations since August, Aplayz was selected as a Hanwha Vision supported company amid strong competition. It will receive up to 50 million KRW and opportunities for PoC (Proof of Concept) to validate business feasibility. If the joint commercialization of CCTV data-based real-time space music curation service between Hanwha Vision and Aplayz becomes a reality, customers are expected to receive more diverse services through video security systems.

Additionally, the Seoul Center will provide further support for Aplayz as an open innovation supported company, including ▲extra points and connections through the center's programs, ▲incubating center (Gwanghwamun location) office benefits, ▲startup platforms support (Amazon AWS, Naver Cloud, and Notion credits), ▲business mentoring and legal assistance, and ▲Seoul Center's own promotion and marketing support, to help Aplayz achieve business success.

Benefits provided by Hanwha Vision include ▲PoC (up to 50 million KRW and opportunities for PoC validation, with additional funding for outstanding items), ▲joint commercialization (real joint commercialization opportunities with Hanwha Vision), ▲sales cooperation (sales support through Hanwha Vision's global network), and ▲promotion at security exhibitions (joint promotion at global security exhibitions).
